She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jessie Carl Townsend Sr. and Hazel Linda Townsend; her siblings, Garnett Averett, Linda Tyson, Mable Fraizer and Jessie Carl Townsend Jr.; her siblings-in-law, Delores Townsend, Ronald Tyson and Venus "Tina" Townsend; her friend Dawn Murphy; her significant other John Organ; her nephews, Jeffery, Charles Tyson, Edwin "Poochie" Trone and Oshi Reese; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Deshekha Townsend, Destany, Zyaire Samuels, Whitney Averett, Courtney Averett, Ali, Miya, Malcom Bacon, Jennifer, Stephanie, Anthony Tyson, Tameka Averett, Donald Averett III, Justin Spalding, Anthony Troy Averett Jr., Michael Averett, Brianna Averett, Justin Welds, Jesse C Townsend IV, Jordan Townsend, Jeremiah Townsend, Javonna Townsend, Savannah Aguilar, Lauri Meoshi, Halle Reese, Iyonna Thompson, Mealoni Thompson, Mealoni Fraizer, Ja'Mani Smith, Sah'ray Smith, Regina Fraizer, Danielle Fraizer, Shandra, Sandra, Alfonza and Naveah James; her children, Durell McPherson, Deighton Bell and Shenell Mills; her grandson Brandon McPherson; and her daughters, Ajike Kendrick, Maisha Uzuri Asegun, Sofia Lawernce and Denise Organ.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Martinez-Morse Funeral Home (33 Railroad Ave, Middletown, NY 10940). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Rose Hills Memorial Park (101 Mill St, Putnam Valley, NY 10519).
