He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Staples and Marguerite Staples (Haungs); his wife Yvonne Lucas Staples; his daughter Rebecca L. Kropf; and his siblings, John "Jack" Staples and MaryLou Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Woodrow Staples (Cindy), Robert Staples (Jodi) and Melissa Kropf (Dave); and his grandchildren, Criste', Vanessa, Jason, Jennifer, Mike, Allison, Brandon and Timothy. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or Hamlin Lions Club.
