He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Joyce Whelan; his daughter Charlene Mavrovich (Joe); and his grandchildren, Kristina Cortes (Michael) and Matthew Mavrovich (Ashanti).

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island (640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953). A prayer was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.
