With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan Heusel of Middle Island, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 14, 2025 at the age of 92. She is survived by: her children, Ronnie, Jay Artrip, John, Jeanne Heusel, Debra Heusel Mobarak, Stephen, Kurt, Wayne Heusel, Ruth Heusel Questel, Payge, James Quigg, Troy and Dayne Heusel; and her sisters, Celia Herlihy and Jane Spinelli. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island (640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953). A prayer was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the Calverton National Cemetery (210 Princeton Blvd, Calverton, NY 11933-1031).
