Dan was born in Oswego on July 27, 1951 to the late Raymond and Marion Parker. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1973 and he married Sally Martin in 2001. Daniel was extremely proud of his service in the Navy. He was committed to serving his country, and traveled all over the world doing so. In his later years, he worked as an Electrical Engineer at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station.

Dan was a true outdoorsman; he loved to spend his free time hunting and fishing. He was also known to have a sweet tooth. You considered yourself lucky if he shared a piece of chocolate from his special drawer. His favorites were Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and M&M's. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
