He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Barrett Barnes Sr. and Glady Greene; his sister Nancy O'Reilly (James); his sister-in-law Shirley (Joseph Enfonde); and his great grandchild Kasen Barnes.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia W. Barnes (McQuoid); his sons, Fred Barnes (Karla) and Kevin Barnes; his grandchildren, Latimer Barnes (Steph), Lauren Nicol (Chris) and Jordan Barnes (Lauren); his great grandchildren, Kaden, McKinley, Grayer, Riggs Barnes and Mereck Nicol; his siblings, Lawrence Barrett Barnes Jr. (Beverly), Jerry Barnes (Cheryl) and Patricia Tyrone; and his pets, Holly and Finnegan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
