He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Irving Petrie and Geraldine Petrie (Harris); and his brother Lawrence Petrie. He is survived by: his children, Gregory Petrie (James), Adam Petrie (Amanda), Shannon Petrie (Carly) and Crystal Alexander (Darryl); his grandchildren, Briana, Aiden Petrie, Colby, Landen, Logan Petrie, Preston and Carley Alexander; his sister Jeanette Lindke (late Gary); and his sister-in-law Harriet Petrie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church.
