He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence L. Vader and Doris (Bissonette); his wife Patricia A. Vader (Carroll) of Medina; his children, Kimberly Taylor (Randy), Eric Charache (Misti) and John Vader, Jr. (Mary Ellen) of Medina; his grandchildren, Griffin, Mia, Zara Taylor, Richie, Addie Miller, Eric, Jr., Aubree, Maverick Charache and Jill Vader; his siblings, Laura Benavides (Jose), Michael Miles (Mary Anne), Terry Gordon and Leanne Strock; and his close friend Dan. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
