He was predeceased by: his siblings, John "Jack" Shields and Judith Mone (Charles "Ganger"); and his nephew Jacob Chase. He is survived by: his girlfriend Carolyn "Cookie" Patrick; his sons, Dennis Shields of Gallatin, TN, Jeffrey Shields (Teena) of Mechanicville and Gary Shields of Stillwater; his grandchildren, Ryan, McKenzie, Clarissa, Sophia and Skylar Shields; his great grandchildren, Brielle, Colson and Everly; his nieces and nephews, MaryJo Chase (Thomas), Richard Mone (Michelle), Charles Mone (Claire) and Robert Chase (Shannon); and also, James Patrick (Donna), Vincent Patrick (Kristen), Colleen Hannon (Michael) and Ricky Parietti (Janice). He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
