She was predeceased by: her father Armond Laforest; her stepfather James Adams; her siblings, Larry Colton-Adams, Jane Roberts and Jo-Ann Cusack; and her grandson Armond VanBramer Jr..
She is survived by: her mother Dorothy Laforest (Clark-Degener); her husband Michael A. Carter; her children, Anthony VanBramer (Ashley), Timothy VanBramer (Hillary), Armond VanBramer and Angela Fraim; and her siblings, Christina Juaire (Dave), Kim Threw (Tom), James Adams, Anita Thomas (Jeff), Shirley Hickman (Tom), Ursula Guilianelli (Bob), Dawn Sanderson, Wilma Daniels and Gary Laforest. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
