It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Opal Sgambati of Mechanicville, New York, who passed away at the age of 95, on October 24, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Willard and Ida Magdalene Edwards Willard; her siblings, Byron Willard, Carl Willard and Sammie Ann Creed; her husband Dr. Stephen S. Sgambati, Sr.; and her parents-in-law, Frances, Elizabeth, Patrick, John, Chris Sgambati, Carmella Izzo, Clara Ponzillo and Emilia Finelli.

She is survived by: her children, Mary Pisani (Dominic), Dr. Stephen Sgambati, Jr. (Michelle), Kathryn Woods (William), Robert Sgambati (Debbie), Annina Rabbitt (William), Teresa Vinikoff (Jerald), Anthony Sgambati (Elaine), Stephanie Zurlo (Paul), Emilia Foard (Dallas), Opal Kalm (Scott), Samuel Sgambati (Athina), Elizabeth Therrien (Francis), Dr. Carl Sgambati MD (Kiley), Francesca Schultz (William) and Carolyn Potvin (Joseph); and her sister-in-law Theresa Sgambati. She is also survived by 43 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren.

Opal Sgambati's family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to either All Saints on the Hudson Church Endowment Fund or USO, PO Box 96860, Washington, DC in respectful memory of Opal F. Sgambati.
