She was predeceased by: her parents, William Griffen and Amelia Brewer Griffen; her son Peter "Tiger" Canavan; and her siblings, William, Joe, Chancey, Gene Griffen, Rosa Schellenger and Holly Schermerhorn.

She is survived by: her son Patrick Canavan (Julie); her grandson Theo Canavan; and her siblings, Seth, Ed, Dennis Griffen and Anne "Midge" Cole-Ferrara. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
