He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominick Alonzo and Caroline Cerrone Alonzo; his brothers, Alfred, Louis "George", Anthony "Tio", Armand "Duke", Arthur, Julius "Julio", John and Dominick "Dan" Alonzo; and his nephews, Louis "Louie" Alonzo and Dominick Alonzo.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Sykes Alonzo; his children, Michele Mastrianni (Jerome) of Saratoga Springs, Joseph Alonzo Jr. (Meg) of Mechanicville, Michael Alonzo (Deanna) of Mechanicville and Julie Brennan (James) of Mechanicville; his sister-in-law Mary Alonzo; his grandchildren, Nicole Mastrianni, Erin Carney (Chris), Sara D'Aversa (Mike), Chad, Seth Alonzo (Shawna), Jessi Boucher (Paul), Kirstyn DeOrdio (Cody), Adam and Christian Batto; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Jackson, Conor, Liam and Molly. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
