John Edward Bevis Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Edward Bevis Sr. of Mechanicville, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 22, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Bevis and Mabel "Honey" Bevis (Lesson); his son John Bevis, Jr.; his siblings, Alice "Boots" Waldron and Donald Bevis; and his grandchildren, Mark Wiley and Elizabeth Bevis.
He is survived by: his wife Phoebe Bevis (Miller); his daughters, Jacklyn Bevis Bogardus, Dianne Wiley (Hal) and Barbara Jean Charlebois (Gary); his daughter-in-law Lisa Schroeder Bevis; his daughter Carol Miller; his grandchildren, Nathan Bogardus (Noelle Gentile), Rebekah Wiley, Tanya Simkovich (Shawn), Zachary Wiley (Sara), Kyle Bevis (Kelley), Ellen O'Neill (Bert), Isaac Wiley (Jaime), Marissa Charlebois, Abigail Charlebois and Sabrina Verdu (Reinaldo); his great grandchildren, Daphne, Isla, Liam, Collins, Lucia, Frances, Benjamin, Harrison, Aram and Caleb; and also Sam. He is also survived by his wife's brother.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chase Smith Family Funeral Homes (173 Main St, Schaghticoke, NY 12154). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Trinity Church (585 4th Ave, Troy, NY 12182). A burial was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery.
