He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Childs and Mary Warner Childs; and his wife Polly Proctor Childs. He is survived by: his children, Sheryll Kowalski (Daniel) of Mayfield, James Childs of Abu Dhabi and David Childs of Mayfield; his sister Thelma Childs of Gloversville; his grandchildren, Sarah VanSlyke (Brad Morehouse), Michael Childs and Steven Childs; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Childs and Lilith Moorehouse VanSlyke.
