He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter O. Hertik and Julia V. Hertik (Smrtic); his siblings, Jacqueline Wiltey, Wayne and Barbara Melita; and his daughter-in-law Candy Hertik.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria (Paciolla); his sons, Walter, Jeffrey (Gayle) and Gregory (Teresa); his grandchildren, Dr. Cassi Brancato (Andrew Miller), Allison Brancato, Hannah, Luke, Justin, Ryan, Victoria, Brayden and Ruby Lyn Butler; and his pets, Rylee, Misti and Stormi. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
