He is survived by: his son Mark Van Derwerker (Jennifer) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Cole Van Derwerker, Brady and Carly Poyfair; his son-in-law Brian Seligman (Patti); and his nieces, Lenise Towarnicki (Frank) and Tracey Sartin.
