He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl B. Houghton and Hazel C. Houghton; and his siblings, Arthur, David and Marjorie Warner.

He is survived by: his former wife Elaine Sutton of Johnstown; his wife Margaret Hallenbeck (King) of Mayfield, NY.; his children, James Houghton of Webster, NY, Jacqueline Jones (Daryl) of Florida, Amy Houghton (Mark Mereness) of Guilderland, NY and Julie Houghton (Tom Gable) of Broadalbin, NY; his stepsons, Keith Hallenbeck of Broadalbin, NY and Jason Hallenbeck of Mayfield; his grandchildren, Zachary, Spencer Jones, Dustin Houghton, Brittany Laclair, Mallory Houghton and Ryan Houghton; and his brother-in-law Rand Warner of Fairport, NY..
