He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gregory and Pauline Thew (Hoffman); his former wife Mary Thew (Cawein); his sister Joan Howell (Thew); his brothers-in-law, Gary and Ron Schade; and his grandson Riley Michael Winstedt.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Thew (Dawson); his children, Christina Myruski (Steven), Jacquelyn Winstedt (Michael), Gregory Thew (Cassandra) and Colleen Zubrycki (Chris); his grandchildren, Sarah, Nicholas, Brayden, Evan, Noah, Ashton and Adelynn; and his extended family, John Cawein (Doris), Jeannette Cawein, Frederica Cawein and Cathleen Schade.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 9th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home (82 S Church St, Goshen, NY 10924). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church (42 Walnut St, Walden, NY 12586).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in Gordon's name to the Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation, Inc (hydrocephaluskids.org), in honor of his Grandson, Brayden or the Disabled American Veterans (help.Dave.org).
