She was predeceased by: her parents, Eugene C. and Jean E. J. (Owens); her husband Harold; and her son Murray Root. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Marlene Ryan of Syracuse, Marsha Vautrain (Paul) of Mattydale and Mark H. Root (Lauren) of Madison, VA; her siblings, Nancy Barrett of Mattydale and Eric L. Marx of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Jeremy Ryan (Jill), Jessica Dewey (Jason), Evan Vautrain (Natalie), Sean Root (Emerald) and Jessica Marcy (Max); her great grandchildren, Nathan, Jerad, Ryley, Brooklyn, Cadence, Evan, Nolan, Max, Penelope and Donovan; and her great great grandchild Gianni.
