He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dean and Arlene Dean; and his wife Janice (Otis). He is survived by: his children, Richard Dean (Susan) of Parish, Carol Fritcher (Randall) of Mattydale and John Dean of Jamesville; his grandchildren, Joshua (Christina), Jesse (Megan), Amanda (James) and Samantha; and also, Thorin, Cadarina, Wyatt, Scarlett, Isabella, Aurora, James IV "JT", Michael and Matthew.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Krueger Funeral Home (2619 Brewerton Rd, Mattydale, NY 13211). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens (6633 Kinne Rd, Syracuse, NY 13214).
