He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Nelson "Tony" Cook and Mamie LaFrance; and his daughter Maureen Cook. He is survived by: his wife Louise Jacobs; his children, Sueann Trembley (Jamie) of Constable, Ian Cook (Alicia) of Akwesasne, Rick Cook Jr. of Akwesasne and Rio Cook (Cody) of Akwesasne; his stepchildren, Aaron Terrance (Shae) of Akwesasne and Chris Terrance (Leanna) of Akwesasne; and his grandchildren, Christian, Dakota, Taja, Roman, Shalia, Kaden, Kane, Netta, Winter, Eagle and Kahiio.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may consider memorial contributions to be made in his memory to the American Legion Post 1479.
