He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew C. Szarka and Irene Szarka (Geng); and his brother Jay Szarka. He is survived by: his former spouse Lynn Reynolds; his children, Melissa Gravelle of Cornwall, Todd and Trudy Szarka of Massena; his grandchildren, Mickial, Makayla, Max, Nastassia and Kay Cie; his close friend Esther Reid of Massena; and his siblings, Joan Szarka-Eddy (James) of Massena and Andrew Szarka of Massena. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
