We are sad to announce that on January 19, 2025, at the age of 83, Alfred Thomas Ward of Massapequa, New York, born in Whitestone, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Alfred Thomas shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Alfred Thomas farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Susan Ward; and his daughter Dorothy. He is survived by: his wife Jane Ward. He is also survived by four daughters and two stepchildren; 13 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Massapequa Funeral Home, South Chapel (4980 Merrick Rd, Massapequa Park, NY 11762). A Mass was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church (2 Bayview Ave, Massapequa, NY 11758). A burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at the Long Island National Cemetery (2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Al's honor to Wounded Warriors, reflecting his lifelong support for those who serve.
