He was predeceased by: his son Ryan Patrick Smith; his grandfather Alton Smith; his aunt Rhonda Hitchcock; and his uncle Graig Austin. He is survived by: his parents, Ronald Smith and Deborah Smith (Hitchcock); his wife Colleen Vitale; his children, Zane, Cass, Austin, Rylie and Dustin; his siblings, Aryn Smith and Amanda Shaffer (Andrew); his niece Jaidyn; his grandparents, Kathleen Smith, Ernest and Norma Hitchcock; and his cousin Stephen Mateunas. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles.

Donations may be sent to the Middlefield Fire Department or to the Go Fund Me that was set up in Ryan's name.
