He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Estes Shutters and Helen Shutters (Barnes); his wife Doris Shutters; his children, Amanda (Clifford Herring), Wayne Shutters, Cindy (Tom Anderson) and Douglas Shutters (Kathy Robinson); his sister Marcia Davis; and his daughter Barbara Anne. He was also cherished by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
