He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvatore Esposito and Margaret Aievoli; his wife Ellen Troncone Esposito; and his siblings, Robert Esposito and Ida Burgin.
He is survived by: his children, Elise Devine-Ciotti (Giuseppe) and John Robert Esposito (Laura Steele); his grandchildren, Brendan Devine and Lyra M. Esposito Steele; and his sister Margaret Lamb of California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
John was the President of the Frank A. Fusco & Nellie Golleti Foundation, a philanthropic organization and a member of the Board of Directors of Accuracy In Media and Accuracy In Academia in Washington, D.C.
