She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Dr. Martha Kaluza (Lippmann) and Dr. Ernst Karl Kaluza; her children, Carla Thorpe (Gerry Thorpe) of Staatsburg, Joann Weed (John Weed) of Marlboro and Steven Dickson (Joan Ruddy) of Katonah; her grandchildren, Nicole, Michael Serini, Erica, Christopher Leo, Krista Weed, Chelsea, Christopher Hertel, Mitchell Thorpe, Jack Dickson and Sean Dickson; her great grandchildren, Makenna Hertel, Charlie Serini and John Leo; her sister Ellen Hatton of Lakewood; and her former husband John Dickson (Carol).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mental Health America of Dutchess County.

“Edith was a special friend from the time my husband, the Rev. John Heller, became the first director of pastoral care at Lutheran Care Center. As volunteer organist, I saw Edith every Sunday. She was one of the faithful readers during the Sunday service. Also she would have no one other than myself guide her back to the dining room after service and we would have a short chat. How I will miss her! loving memory of Edith Dickson, Sharing in your sorrow. With love and friendship.”
