He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Francis and Mary Ellen Merriman (Aungier); his wife Cheryl (Nelson) of New Bern; his children, Sara of Philadelphia, PA and Chris (Jacqueline) of Raleigh; his siblings, James (Beth) of Seattle, WA and Julie Young (Tracy) of Charlotte; his brother-in-law James Capo of Manhatten, NY; and his grandchildren, Evan, Ava, Wesley and Spencer. He was also cherished by aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
