She was predeceased by: her parents, Malachi "Bossy" and Laura Quarles Richardson; and her husband Roosevelt Chaney. She is survived by: her children, Henry Richardson of South Carolina, Eddie Lee Richardson of New York City, Beverly Chaney of New York City and Mia Chaney of New York City; and her sisters, Josephine and Maude. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
