She was predeceased by: her spouse Henry Smat; her son Michael Smat; her brothers, Charles, Joseph and Thomas Edwards; and her significant other Clayton Rhodes.
She is survived by: her daughter Diana James; her grandson Colin James of Newburgh; her sister Catherine Brown (Allen) of Virginia; and her sister-in-law Marianna Edwards of Sparrowsbush. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
