June E. Blum Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of June E. Blum of Manhattan, New York, born in Jamaica, New York, who passed away on November 17, 2022, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jeanette Raphael Epstein and Alexander Epstein; her husband Stanley Blum; her siblings, Gustav Epstein and Sybil Moskowitz; her son Andrew; her daughter-in-law Adriana; her daughter Jane Anderson; her son-in-law Mark Reside; her granddaughters, Caty McAfee, Julie Bergman (Neil Haney) and Jennifer Scott (Rob); her great grandchildren, Killian, Cedric, Sebastian, Meredith, Sean and Evan; her sister-in-law Billie Dolin; her friend Linda Gottschalk (June); her great-nephew Dan Moskowitz (Jenny); and also, Martha Moskowitz and Susan Hickey. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
On her 100th birthday during COVID, June sat outside her apartment building while her colleagues from Cornell gathered to serenade her with a happy birthday song.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the June Blum, Ph.D. Award in Geriatric Psychology, given to a trainee or junior faculty member at Weill Cornell Medicine for excellence in scholarly work in the field of geriatric psychology.
