He is survived by: his wife Mary-Ewing; his children, Elise McCarthy of Manalapan, NJ, Edward John McCarthy (Kim) of Bradenton, FL and Lucinda Tomarchio (David) of East Windsor, NJ; and his grandchildren, Jason, Michael Tomarchio and Juliana McCarthy.
