Mary Agnes Mannix Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 19, 2021, Mary Agnes Mannix of Manhasset, New York, born in Manhattan, New York passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Mary Agnes Mannix to pay them a last tribute.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband William P. Mannix; her children, Robert, Judith (John Koot), Brian (Susan Dudley), Paul (Rachelle Raphael), Eileen, GrandMary, Jennifer, Katherine, Gregory and Christopher; her great grandchildren, Owen and Noah; her godchildren, Denis, Kevin, Ginny and Steven; and her siblings, Francis, Jack and Gene O'Brien.
Though a great fan of the work of Robert Frost, whose poems she recited by memory nightly with her daughter during the pandemic, it is a poem by C. P. Cavafy - "The Road to Ithaca" - that was the most meaningful and evocative source of inspiration and imagination throughout her long life.
Prepared with love and appreciation by a grateful daughter on behalf of Mary's family, Eileen Mannix The family suggests that memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to The Catholic Faith Network (http://www.catholicfaithnetwork.org) or to St. Francis Hospital Foundation (Office of Development, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576).
