It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Hawkinson of Manhasset, New York, born in Queens, New York, who passed away on February 6, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Prendergast and Ann Prendergast (Gibbons); her husband Robert Hawkinson (Bob); her brother James; and her brother-in-law Edward Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby (Kathy) and Christine; her stepdaughter Kristina; her son Christopher; and her siblings, Anne (Mitchell), Nora, Bill (Crandall), Larry, Carole (Prendergast) and Joy (Prendergast). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a more fitting tribute in the form of a donation to Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 N Main St, Providence, RI 02904 or to St. Mary of the Bay Food Pantry, 645 Main St, Warren, RI 02885. ~~~ "Service is the rent we pay for our time on earth."
