He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Pillig and Bertha Pillig (Babyak). He is survived by: his wife Carol Diefenbach Pillig; his children, Amy Reyen (Michael), Ernest Pillig, Jr. (Eileen) and Stephen Pillig (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Nicole Levine, Michael Reyen, Kaitlyn Pillig and Jaycie Pillig; and his sister Donna Thomsen.
