He was predeceased by: his mother Wanda Saumier (Pecore); his brother James; and his nephew Thomas Supernault. He is survived by: his father Gerald Saumier of Malone; his close friend Wendy Patnode of Malone; his children, Bret Lester (Jillian), Lucas Saumier and Lily Saumier; his stepchildren, Jesse, Joshua Patnode and Nicole Marshall; his grandchildren, Victoria Jean, Amelia Ann Lester, Joshalynn, Lucian, Elliot and Maya Patnode; and his siblings, Jerry (Barbara Saumier), Jeff (Kimberly Saumier) and Julie Breckheimer of Liverpool. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
