She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert McCarthy and Olive McCarthy (Deane). She is survived by: her children, Sydney Ann (Charles D'Abbraccio), Emily Shea (Jack Olson) and Thomas Charles Jr.; her husband Thomas Straehle; and her brothers, Robert McCarthy (Nancy) and Brendan McCarthy. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc. (16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, NY 10805). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Church (15 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, NY 10805).
