He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Bernal and Juana Bernal (Sanchez); his wife Carolyn; his son William; his sister Mercedes Lorenzo; and his niece Mercedes.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony (Michael) of Boynton Beach, FL, John Jr. (Donnamarie) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Carolyn Schwartz (Arthur) of Carmel, NY and Cheryl Rosado (Antonio) of Dunnellon, FL; his sister Frances Totten of Deerfield Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Kristen, Brandon, Ashley, Michael, Brianna, Brittany, Alexa and Jasmine; his great grandchildren, Braelynn, Cali, Rylan, Kassidy and Kairi; and his nephews, Julio Lorenzo, Robert Totten and George Totten.
