He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Maxwell and Earl Maxwell; and his brother Jack. He is survived by: his children, Robert Maxwell (Lori), Ron Maxwell (Bev Murray), Tom Maxwell (Pam) and Kathy Baker (Bruce); his grandchildren, Fritz, Sarah, Casey, Joshua, Shane, Brandon, Dillon and Jacob Maxwell; and his siblings, MaryEllen, Lorraine Morrisey, Phyllis Davis (Frank), Jane Hill (Vic), Bill (Kathy) and Dick (Lou). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
