He was predeceased by: his wife Flora Appleton; his siblings, Oliver "Pudge" Appleton, Lillian Darling and Thelma Malone; and his nephew Paulie Appleton.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Spayd (Mike), Mary Smith (Jim Erdle), Lisa Pavia (Frank) and Tim Appleton (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Keli Drake (Caleb Frick), Alicia Drake, Adam Smith (Megan Conley), Kyle Smith (Nicole), Holly Smith, Caitlin Pavia, Hilary Pavia, Jeb Appleton and Eli Appleton; and his siblings, Paul Appleton (Marie) and Elaine Eagley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
