He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathalal Shah and Kantaben Shah; and his brother Kirit N. Shah. He is survived by: his wife Shobhana A. Shah of Nairobi, Kenya.; his children, Dr. Samir A. Shah and Sejal A. Shah; his children-in-law, Dr. Seema V. Byahatti and Rajesh N. Singaravelu; his grandsons, Anand B. Shah and Vijay B. Shah; and his brother Nitin N. Shah. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, and their children.
