He was predeceased by: his father Willard Nellist. He is survived by: his wife Sharon A. Nellist (Lartz); his daughters, Sheri Schoolcraft, Debbie Nellist and Pam Rounds (Rich); his grandchildren, Brandon, Becca, Devin, Karlee and Evan; his mother Queen Nellist; and his brothers, Jimmy, Danny, Gordy and Timmy "Tip" Nellist.
