He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Miles and Ruth Miles (Ernst); and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Catharine Ann Messner; his sons, Peter (Janel), Mark (Melissa), Joseph (Elizabeth), Daniel (Kristan) and Richard (Scarlett); and his siblings, Thomas (Barbara) and Sue (Walter). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
