She was predeceased by: her child Allison; and her parents, Gladys Rizzi and Valentine Rizzi. She is survived by: her husband Ross; her sisters, Lorrie Rizzi and Patty Barnett (Scott); her siblings-in-law, Robin and Matthew Patinkin; and her nieces and nephews, Anthony, Riva, Adam, Jason, Liza, Emma, Ryan, Grace and Scarlett.
In lieu of flowers, Valerie has requested donations to be made to the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association).
