He was predeceased by: his parents, John Atkinson and Kathleen Atkinson (Stundon) of Manhattan; and his brother John Atkinson (Virginia) of Richmond, Virginia.. He is survived by: his wife Bridget Atkinson (Sullivan); his children, Mary Meszaros (late Michael), Thomas Atkinson (Jennifer) and Jane Gajwani (Sachin); and his grandchildren, Michael, Jack, Katherine Meszaros, Thomas, Sean Atkinson, Orla, Siddhartha and Sebastian Gajwani.
