With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William B. Tarasek (Lowville, New York), who passed away on August 20, 2024 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Eugene Gaylord; his cousin Ward "Butch" Tarasek; and his parents, John Tarasek and Jennie Dauksza Tarasek. He is survived by: his wife Debbie Shettle of Peter's Catholic Church; his daughter Aimee Tarasek (Patrick Cuffe); his grandsons, Lucas and Devin of New York Mills; his son John Tarasek (Kala Kaiser); his grandson Tyler of Whitesboro; his daughter Kimberly Olmstead (Steven); his grandchild Aria of Waterville; and his siblings, Frances Gaylord of Turin, Henry (Cheryl Tarasek) and Andy (Bonnie Tarasek). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“Bill and Debbie sat with my wife and I at our, Bill and my fifty-fifth-class reunion, last August at Tug Hill Estates. We have a wonderful evening along with our classmates and friends. I will always remember Bill for his genuine interest in others and his honesty (as in telling Arel Brown, home plate umpire in Little League, that he (Bill) dropped my foul tip third strike, allowing me to stay up to bat which I then hit a game winning home run). Bill you will be always in our hearts.”
