She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester E. Loson and Theodora Loson (Stoddard); her husband Walter G. Hayes, Jr.; her son Robert J. Hayes; her son-in-law John Peek; her brother Fredrick Arthur Loson; and her stepgranddaughter Heather Murphy.

She is survived by: her children, Janette Peek and William J. Hayes (Linda); and her grandsons, Shawn C. Hayes (Ellen A.), Shane M. Hayes (Aimee), Shaughnessy Hayes, Casey L. Peek (Sherri Austin) and Ronald "RJ" Hayes (Madelaine). She is also survived by her seven great grandchildren.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a private burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.

“I never really knew Vivian, except over the telephone. For some few months after this nasty virus first hit, Vivian & I talked a few times a week, at the behest of a local agency, to check on her general welfare. I so enjoyed our conversations, for that's what they ended up becoming; Vivian was a true lady. I apologize that I am so late with my message of sympathy, but the timing makes it no less sincere. May all you who loved Vivian never doubt she loved you even more.”
