He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kowalchyk and Yustina Kowalchyk (Sirak); his son Michael John Kowalchyk; his siblings, Stephen, Harry (Louise), John, Peter (Jean), Joseph Kowalchyk and Mary Caldwell (William); and his brother-in-law John O'Grady.
He is survived by: his wife Connie; his former wife Constance Kowalchyk (O'Grady); his children, Mary Anne Kingsley (James), Kathleen Merrick (Charlie), Kevin Kowalchyk (Linda), Patricia Kowalchyk and Christine Scott (Brian); his grandchildren, Molly Kingsley (Clara Libbrecht), Jeremy Kingsley (Michelle Heidgerken), Jennifer Carbone, Joseph Carbone (Jennifer), Nicholas Kowalchyk, Mariah Kowalchyk, Catherine Bitteker, Greta Bitteker, Harrison Scott and Anna Scott; and his sisters-in-law, Elsie Kowalchyk of Melrose, Helen Kowalchyk of Watervliet and Emily O'Grady of Schenectady. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
