He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lee and Kathryn Kaufmann (Paul). He is survived by: his wife Janet Hirschy; his children, Jason Lee (Brittany), Joanna Lee (Dan Radley), Cape Vincent, Jeremy Lee, Jennifer Berghorn (Shane) and Copenhagen; his grandchildren, Jada, Jaylen, Jeiel, Jullian, Jaxson, Olivia and Walker; and his siblings, Dennis Lee (Andi) of Lowville, Donna Jones (Gary) of Lowville, Bill Kaufmann (Becky) of Lowville, Paula Kaufmann of Lowville and Tina Tuttle (Mark) of Lowville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Instead of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Sons of the Lowville American Legion Post 162.
